Last week a Stormzy fan got in touch with the rapper on Twitter with a very special request.
The young man explained that on the day of his graduation (which was earlier this month), his father passed away. The father’s favourite song was ‘Blinded By Your Grace’ by Stormzy. So, he decided to chance his arm and see if Stormzy was free to perform at the funeral service.
Stormzy slid into his DMs and it all worked out in the end. A really, really lovely gesture that this man’s family will never forget.
Whoops!

Lorde is considering cancelling a show in Israel after fans voiced their disappointment in her.
Yesterday two fans wrote an open letter to Lorde urging her to cancel her concert in Tel Aviv in June 2018. The fans, Nadia and Justine, want Lorde to call off her show in Israel to take a stand against Israel and their military occupation of Palestine, which has resulted in an apartheid state where Palestinians are denied freedom of movement and basic necessities.
In their articulate letter, they referenced the success of artistic boycotts of South Africa’s apartheid.
Lorde responded to the fans, and told them that she was considering her options and speaking to different people about the matter. She also thanked them for educating her on the matter.

In 2010, Elvis Costello cancelled his concerts in Israel in protest of the treatment of Palestinians. Earlier this year Radiohead and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds were heavily criticised for playing in Tel Aviv, despite fans urging them not to do so. (NME)

Liam Gallagher has discussed the possibility of an Oasis reunion after his ‘truce’ with Noel.
Earlier this week, it emerged that Noel had reached out to Liam just in time to sort things out before Christmas. War Is Over.
Bookies immediately began to speculate an Oasis reunion – Paddy Power reduced their odds from 100/1 to 8/1. However, Liam remains adamant that an Oasis reunion is simply not going to happen. He told Australian newspaper The Age that nothing’s going to change.
Ah well. (The Age)
And the rest of the day’s dirt…
